How to get to Geneva Observatory

From the airport: The simplest wsolution is a Taxi, which will cost you about 50 EUR one way. It is possible to reach the Observatory also by public transportation taking any train from the Geneva Airport to the Geneva Main Station (Cornavin). All the trains stop in Cornavin, first stop. There, switch to the regional train to Versoix (direction Coppet). From Versoix train station (Jura-side exit) take the U-line bus to the Observatoire.

From Geneva downtown: Take the regional train from Cornavin (main station) to Versoix (direction Coppet). From Versoix take the U-line bus to the Observatoire.

Accommodation

The closest village is Versoix, where we have a special agreement with the Lake Geneva Hotel (http://www.lakegenevahotel.ch). The price is 155 CHF for a single classic room (165 CHF for superior) and 185 CHF for a classic double room (195 CHF for superior). These prices include breakfast. Unfortunately these prices apply only as long as they have low booking rate. So, first come first served.

Otherwise accommodation possibilities can be found in Geneva downtown, e.g. Hotel Strasbourg, Hotel Cristal, Hotel Suisse, etc., all close to the main train station. For those who will have a rental car, there is also the possibility to lodge in Divonne-les-bains (french side), which is usually somewhat less expensive.
