SSC is the SHARK-VIS end-to-end simulation code written in IDL language (Stangalini et al. 2014).
The code is based on the IDL PROPER propagation lib and allows the assessment of the performances of the instrument under different seeing and observing conditions (i.e. different star magnitude, different coronagraphic masks,...).
Starting from the LBT SOUL AO residual phase screens generated with the PASSATA code (Agapito et al. 2016) or FFT synthetized AO phase screens, it computes the short (ms) and long integration coronaghraphic and non-coronagraphic PSF as expected downstream the LBT AO system on the focal plane of the instrument.
The code allows to consider a number of key factors with a potential impact of the overall contrast of the images such as for example NCPAs residual aberrations and telescope jitter.
The code was written for the analysis and the assessment of the performances of SHARK-VIS, the forthcoming LBT high contrast imager at visible wavelenghts, but can used also for other similar instrumentation provided that the parameters of the code are adjusted accordingly.
